Every beltstarts white

Nobody walks in knowing jiu-jitsu. Your first class is free, the gi is on loan, and the person next to you was new once too.

Tap the black bar to tie on a stripe

    The fall board.

It hangs by the front door (this is a sample schedule). Pick any class marked for you. Your first one is free, and you don’t have to say which one ahead of time.

Kids, 5 to 12. Balance, falling without getting hurt, getting out of a hold, and being a decent training partner. It starts as games. The technique sneaks in. Try it free

Adults, 16 and up. Brazilian jiu-jitsu, with a fundamentals class and an all-levels class. Any age, any shape. You set the pace, and you can always tap. Try it free

Women’s self-defense, 14 and up. How to get out of a grab, off a wall, or up from the ground. Taught by women, in a women-only hour. No experience and no belt needed. Try it free

Open mat, everyone. Saturday mornings the mat is open. Drill what you learned, roll with friends, or bring a partner from another gym. Try it free

      Two ladders, one mat

Everybody starts on a white belt. Kids climb one ladder, adults another, and they share the room.

Promotions happen when the coaches see it on the mat, not on a calendar. The times here are typical for jiu-jitsu. They aren’t promises.

      Your first class

Your first class runs about 60 minutes. Come ten minutes early and we’ll find you a loaner gi, show you the changing rooms and introduce you to a partner. Then a warm-up of rolling, hip escapes and standing up safely. Everybody does it, white belts and black belts alike.

After that we show one technique, step by step, and you try it slowly with someone who’s done it a hundred times. No hard sparring on night one, no contract at the door. Ask us anything, then decide. On a jiu-jitsu belt, strips of tape on the black bar mark your progress: four stripes, then the next belt. Stripe one is free.

This is a concept site, so nothing was sent. On a live site this slip would book the class and text a reminder.
