Shut off your main, then call. A Cedar & Main plumber answers day and night and talks you through it while the truck is on the way.

A burst pipe does most of its damage before anyone shows up. The main shutoff stops water to the whole house, and it’s usually in one of three places.
Can’t find it? Call and stay on the line.(419) 555-0142
Every main we touch gets a tag like this one, wired to the valve, so whoever is home can find it in the dark.
Water heater leaking? Its own cold-water valve sits on the pipe above the tank. Turn that one first.
That’s the year Cedar & Main opened in a one-bay garage on the corner of Cedar and Main. The garage is the shop now, the next generation runs the trucks, and the number on the door hasn’t changed.
You get an upfront price, in writing, before we start. We wear boot covers, put down drop cloths and explain as we go. When we’re done, we show you the old part and tag your main shutoff.
Kitchen, bath, floor drain, main line
Slow sinks, backed-up tubs, the main line to the street. We clear it with a cable or a water jetter, and run a camera when it keeps coming back.
Install, repair, flush, venting
Repair and replacement for gas, electric and tankless. Most standard tanks are swapped the same day. Compare the three.
Supply lines, slab, fittings
A water bill that jumped, a stain on the ceiling, a hiss in the wall. We listen for it before we open anything, then fix the one spot.
Replace, backup, alarm
New pumps, battery backups and float switches, tested before the spring rain comes through Millbrook.
Kitchen, bath, laundry, outdoor
Faucets, toilets, disposals, shutoffs and hose bibs, set level, sealed, and the cabinet wiped out after.
Nights, weekends, holidays
Burst pipes, sewer backups, no water at all. The line is answered around the clock, every day of the year.
The price comes first, in writing, before any work starts.
| Gas tank | Electric | Tankless | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Often lasts | 8 to 12 yrsDepends on water hardness and how often it’s flushed. | 10 to 15 yrsElements and thermostats can often be replaced on their own. | 15 to 20 yrsWith a yearly descale; hard water shortens it. |
| Signs | Pilot keeps going out, rumbling as it heats, rust-tinted hot water, damp floor at the base. | Hot water runs out fast, breaker trips, water only lukewarm, popping from the tank. | Error codes on the panel, temperature swinging mid-shower, scale at the outlet. |
| Good to know | Smell gas? Leave the house and call the gas utility first, then us. | Turn the breaker off before draining or if the tank is leaking. | Endless hot water, but it needs the right gas line and venting. We check both first. |
Ranges are typical industry figures, not a promise for any one unit.
The trucks leave from the corner of Cedar & Main.
